Building strong community partnership is crucial to our success. We collaborate with local businesses, schools ,community centers and other organizations that serves women to establish social protection for women. We believe that it will expand our reach and access to wider audience and also create a most just equitable society for all women.
We establish and pair our mentorship programs with experienced women and underserved young girls seeking guidance and support. It helps our youths with valuable networking opportunities, career advices and personal development.
Executive Director
Mrs. Faijay B.D Vanyan is the Executive Director of Women Aid Liberia (WAL). Mrs. Vanyan is a dedicated and passionate women's rights, equal gender participation in decision making, social protection and inclusion, and social-economic empowerment campaigner. She is a professional advocate for gender equality, social protection and inclusion in the work place, school, faith-based institutions, community and household. Mrs. Vanyan has an expressed compassion for women and girls’ education and career advancement. She has also devoted her time, energy, and resources to sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHRs) advocacy for underserved populations. She initiated a robust sanitary pad bank program in support of adolescent girls’ access to improved sanitary pads on school campuses. Through her access to sanitary pad on campus interventions, code name; “Leave No Girls Behind Campaign”, hundreds of adolescent girls have benefited from access to improved sanitary pads. Program Officer
Ms Sayda Wheagar is the Program Officer for Women Aid Liberia. She is a devoted social norms transformation activist and leading women’s rights Campaigns. She has worked in gender equality, women’s rights, and social inclusion advocacy for several years. Her experience in the field of women’s rights activism and community development, coupled with her passion for women and girls empowerment, has compelled her to continuously remain engaged in women’s rights advocacy and grassroots based social inclusion campaigns. Since she joined Women Aid Liberia Program Team, Ms. Wheagar has played a pivotal role in fostering women’s rights and social inclusion advancement campaigns. She is a team player who is committed to collaborative planning, designing, and implementation of women and youth focused programs.
MERL Officer
Mr. J. Michael Flama is the monitoring, evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) Officer at Women Aid Liberia. J.Michael Flama plays a critical role in developing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems to track the progress and impact of the team's initiatives. He also leads efforts to integrate learning into the organization's practices and decision-making processes.
Field Supervisor
Ms. Winnifred K. Sayon, in her role as Field Supervisor, leads our field operations by directing staff, supervising project implementation, and monitoring compliance with acceptable operational standards. She is an ardent promoter of internationally acceptable safeguarding policy. Her leadership role has safeguards fundamental adaption of program management best practices at the national, county, community and household levels. Ms. Sayon is passionate about breaking gender barriers and shifting the gender paradigms in favor of emancipating underserved female population towards social-economic empowerment. Ms. Sayon has dedicated much of her work to the empowerment of female headed households’ access to alternative and sustainable livelihoods.
